Concepts

As of 08:15 · the period does not apply here

A brief from the Social Hub calendar, taken three ways. Each direction says what it is, what it would take to shoot, and what was counted underneath it — a count, never a reason. Somebody picks one and it goes to a production line; the other two are kept with the note that explains them.

Moka pot without the bitterness

A method reel, sixty seconds, one pair of hands and no voice-over. The one method we have not covered.

Why this slot exists. The method format carried four of the last six posts that beat their own median.

Waiting 1 d 19 h for a direction to be chosen. Nothing goes to a production line until one is.

One take, no cuts

The whole moka pot in one unbroken shot, at the speed it actually happens.

Shot list

  1. 1Cold water to the valve, not over it. Hands only, no face.
  2. 2Basket filled level and struck off with a finger — no tamping.
  3. 3On the heat, lid open, and the pour begins on its own.
  4. 4Off the heat the moment the stream goes pale, not when it stops.
  5. 5Poured into a cup already on the bar. One second of steam, then the end card.

What was counted

Five method posts were counted across the watched set and our own account in the last ninety days. Four of them ran under seventy seconds; the one that ran over sits lowest of the four that could be measured.

Needs. An hour on the bar before the shop opens, and a second pair of hands to hold the frame steady through the pour.

Worth knowing. The moka pot we own is scratched. On camera that reads as dirty rather than used, so either it is replaced before the shoot or the shot stays wide enough not to show it.

The bitter one first

Open on the cup nobody wants, then show the three things that made it.

Opens with a questionIG Reel

Shot list

  1. 1A cup poured, tasted, put down. Nothing said.
  2. 2Card: three things that do it. Then each one, five seconds apart.
  3. 3Water in cold, not hot. The grind, coarser than an espresso.
  4. 4Off the heat early — the pale stream again, this time in close.
  5. 5The second cup, tasted, kept. Same bar, same light, no card.

What was counted

One of the six posts counted opens on the problem instead of the method. It is the lowest of the five that could be measured — a single post, and not enough to say anything about the shape on its own.

Needs. Two brews back to back, and somebody willing to drink the first one.

Side by side

The moka pot against the brewer people replace it with, on the same bar at the same time.

Takes a sideIG Reel

Shot list

  1. 1Both brewers on the bar, same beans weighed into each.
  2. 2Split frame from here: moka pot left, filter right.
  3. 3The two clocks run together — four minutes against three.
  4. 4Both cups poured into the same two glasses, side by side.
  5. 5The end card names what each one is for, and does not pick one.

What was counted

Nobody on the watchlist has put a moka pot next to another brewer in the last ninety days. One account covered the moka pot on its own, on 27 August.

Needs. Both brewers on the bar at once, the filter one borrowed off the shop floor and put back before opening.

Worth knowing. It puts our own equipment next to something we also sell. That is fine in a reel and not fine on a listing — this cut can never be reused as a main image, because a main image is the product on white and nothing else.

What the counts are made over

Posts from our own account and the watched set in the last ninety days, each against its own account's median for that format.

5 of these 6 posts could be measured; the rest say on the row itself what is missing. Everything counted here runs over the last ninety days, whatever period is set elsewhere: a week is too small a window to count over honestly.

What this concept does not say

Lines the brief could have carried. Two would have been stopped at the gate; the third would have passed every rule and is still not written.

Brand rulebook
  • “Brewed this way it won't upset your stomach the way a stovetop usually does.”

A promise about a body. It is on the same list Customer Voice checks a reply against and the Social Hub checks a caption against, and it stops the work on every surface, not just this one. The shop sells food, not medicine.

  • “The perfect moka pot, every time.”

An unprovable superlative. The brand book calls these empty, and they invite a complaint nobody in the building can answer.

  • “Short method reels do well because people watch them to the end.”

Nothing measured here says why. Five method posts were counted and four of them ran under seventy seconds — that is a count, and the moment it becomes a reason it is a claim about an audience nobody asked.

Shelved, and why

Directions nobody chose on earlier briefs. The file is kept because the reason outlives the job.

Company brain
  • The myth-buster, on camera

    BR-2026-133 · Wed 9 Sep, 10:20

It needed somebody on camera saying what decaf is not, four times. A person saying "not" four times reads as defensive. The myth list itself survived into the chosen cut.

  • The grinder, taken apart

    BR-2026-131 · Wed 9 Sep, 15:05

Fourteen parts laid out on a bar looks like a repair manual. The cut that went out brushes the grinder without dismantling it, which is what somebody will actually do twice a month.

  • Two cups, one wrong

    BR-2026-127 · Thu 3 Sep, 11:40

It asked us to brew something badly on purpose, and a bad cup does not look bad on camera. Kept because the same idea works the moment there is something visible to point at — which is where the bitter-first direction came from.

Omni writes the directions and does not choose between them. There is no score on this page, no recommended option and no direction marked best — the counts are the same for all three and the decision is the part a person is here for.
